Dean Noori

On behalf of the College of Engineering, I would like to personally invite you to join us for Cal Poly’s 15th Annual Open House, April 17 – 19, 2008. (You may have already received an email invitation; this letter is a follow-up to that earlier message.) This year’s Open House, "Destination: Cal Poly" offers you a special opportunity to preview our quality academic programs and experience our rich campus life.

Thursday, April 17: SLO or Bust! is Club Preview Night at Farmers’ Market. Join us for a weekly San Luis Obispo tradition.

Friday April 18: Pack Your Bags is Admitted Students' Preview Day, a day especially set aside for you! You will have a chance to take an indepth look at our college and departments and explore Cal Poly’s unique learn-by-doing philosophy. (See the enclosed College of Engineering program for a detailed schedule of activities.)

The three days of programming culminate on Saturday, April 19 with a series of events and exhibitions that showcase the energy, spirit and creativity of our students. Over 200 student clubs and organizations will present demonstrations and educational exhibits; you may watch the Poly Royal Parade, view special events, explore campus facilities and meet current students.

Come discover for yourself why the College of Engineering at Cal Poly is a nationally recognized institution. We believe our success results from the combined efforts of our excellent faculty, bright students, outstanding alumni and supportive industry partners. And, our high rankings prove it; for instance, in its Annual Guide to Colleges, U.S. News & World Report has consistently ranked Cal Poly’s College of Engineering as one of the nation’s top public undergraduate engineering colleges.

We are honored that you chose to apply to Cal Poly and hope you'll take the opportunity to participate in all the activities of Open House weekend, so you can discover firsthand why Cal Poly is considered such a great place. Be sure to RSVP today!*

Sincerely,

“After graduating from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s of arts degree in education, I decided to pursue my interest in engineering.

The hands-on, learn by doing philosophy coupled with a ranking at the top of the list of state engineering schools attracted me to Cal Poly. It has been wonderful.
