College Notes

Below are some updates from Cal Poly grads. More notes are added all the time, so be sure & check back often!

Ernie Schenone, Jr (ME '89) is the owner and president of Chocoholics Divine Desserts, located in Clements, CA. You can find more information and details about his products at http://www.gourmetchocolate.com

Jeffrey Hudgins (ME '92) serves as a Corporate Engineer for Six Flags Theme Parks, with responsibility for the development and technical coordination of new rides as well as the management of sustaining engineering efforts for two theme parks in California and Mexico.

Ben August (MATE '99) works in the IT group in the Office of the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education at Stanford University.

Sarah McQuaide (ME '99) graduated in 2002 from the University of Washington with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. She currently works in the U.W. Genomation Lab on a project funded by the National Institutes of Health involving microscale devices for single-cell studies. NIH also funds the project collaborators at the Seattle Fred Hutchinson Cancer Institute. Sarah writes, "I am happily enjoying Seattle's beautiful green weather and designing clocks in my spare time."

Joseph Camajani (CE '05) sends greeting to fellow alumni and write that he has been enjoying his position as a structural design engineer at KPFF Consulting Engineers in San Francisco. He is currently working on the design of mild-reinforced, pre-stressed, and post-tensioned precast and cast-in-place concrete structures as well as some other smaller timber and masonry projects. "I miss San Luis Obispo, but working and living in my hometown of San Francisco is fanstastic," he says, adding that he hopes to see other Cal Poly grads soon!

Michael McDonald (AERO '00) is a graduate of the United States Naval Test Pilot School and is currently working as a civilian aerospace flight test engineer on the program to replace the aging VH-3D Presidential Helicopter with a modern helicopter (VH-71A).

Joal Vazquez (ME '01) has been with Parsons for seven years as a consultant in acoustics (noise & vibration) for the transporation and industrial sector, giving him the opportunity to travel the country. He is currently attending Loyola Marymount University pursuing a master's degree in Structural Dynamics.
