Enrolling and Selecting Your First ClassesAfter you are admitted, you will receive instructions and deadlines on how to register. On-line class selection is done via the My Cal Poly portal using CPReg and an integrated application PASS that helps you plan your class schedule. Before enrolling for your first quarter, check your program requirements, course descriptions and the prerequisites described the General Catalog in order to tentatively scope out your entire program of study. Note that many advanced classes in the college are taught just once per year, so it is important in planning your entire curriculum to obtain information on which courses will be taught when. Most departments post a table of proposed course offerings on their web sites, and others can provide that information through the department office. Some programs require MS students to complete a "graduate seminar," which may not be offered every quarter. Check with your Graduate Coordinator to see if a graduate seminar or some other course requirement is a "must take" in your first quarter, especially if you expect to finish your MS degree in one year. Otherwise, you should be able to select your first quarter classes independently, using class schedule information in PASS and the General Catalog. Be sure to confirm that you have the prerequisites for the classes you select.

“I like to get my hands dirty. Well, at least as dirty as electrical engineering projects allow.”
I've been able to focus on my two areas of interest -- digital design and signal processing -- while working on some very interesting projects. |
