Management of the Application ProcessAlthough each graduate student applies and is formally notified of admission through the campus Admissions Office, the final decision is made by the faculty of the intended program, through a consultative process managed by the Graduate Coordinator. You are encouraged to contact your Coordinator to confirm that all necessary application materials have arrived, especially transcripts and recommendation letters, to clarify any concerns about requirements and financial support, or to set up a visit to the department. The Graduate Coordinator is the key faculty member to facilitate your transition to becoming a Cal Poly graduate student. He or she is dedicated to helping you manage the various steps that must be taken in order to successfully complete the graduate admission process. |
“My path to Cal Poly is a little unusual. I was born in a refugee camp in Thailand.”
When I was two, we moved to Rosemead. Since I was so young, I don't remember the challenges my parents faced, but it was very tough. I've always been interested in electronics. I remember my father was trying to fix a microwave oven and I was amazed by all of the wires. Later in high school, I took an aptitude test and the result was 'electrical engineer.' That, lucky for me, sparked my interest in Cal Poly. |
